Loving one another in the daily routines of life is a powerful witness that cannot be contradicted, denied or overcome. It is an impossible irreconcilable contradiction for a believer to hate fellow believers. God has given us an endless storehouse of grace upon grace and forgiveness upon forgiveness. While we all have different personalities, preferences and sins, His grace is boundless and allows us to love even when the world calls on us to hate.
Our Christian love must be extended to all people: believers as in John 13:34; to our neighbors as in Mark 12:31; and, even to our enemies as in Matthew 5:44. The whole Bible commands us to show love to our enemies. For example, as in (Exodus 23:4-5; Leviticus 19:18; and Proverbs 25:21). However, the Psalmists also sings of hating those who hate God as in Psalm 139:22.
Given the difficulties which may creep up when addressing the things above, there should never be a conflict or a challenge in understanding the absolute necessity to love those who are our brothers and sisters in Christ. As Christians, this is a "no brainer."
God has made it absolutely and abundantly clear without mixing any words. In 1 John 4:20, "If anyone says, 'I love God,' and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen." Emphasis intentionally added.
So, if you love God, you will love others as yourself. It only makes sense. This is how the world will know we are Christians. It isn't about social media, tweets or bumper stickers. It's about Christ and it's about His children demonstrating a love which the world cannot give. The world is clueless. It's about not being afraid of what the world may say or do because you have chosen to love. Thank God for that Grace.
So, what is the end result of this? Life changing fearless love, not reckless love, which produces affirmation as to who it is we serve. It becomes a testimony unto itself.
The next thing you know, you may end up allowing God to handle everything in your life including your business, how you talk to people, what you do and with whom you choose to associate; and, ultimately, you may find yourself loving on people and not even know it. Why? Because it is really our natural state which has been vailed from us by the one who is currently being allowed to run amuck in this world.
The world will not understand our love for each other. It won't appreciate the way we love each other and it absolutely won't praise the love we have for one and other. But, as we love our brothers and sisters in Christ by word and deed, everyone will see and know, by this love, that we are disciples of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior.
